WEST LAFAYETTE, IN —

PlaneEnglish, a trusted leader in aviation communication training, is pleased to announce a series of practical updates to its ARSim Aviation Radio Simulator. These enhancements offer distinct benefits for pilots and ground crews seeking to improve their communication skills and overall training experience.

Benefits to Pilot Training:

These new interactive ARSim modules offer a more engaging learning experience, allowing users to apply their knowledge in practical scenarios. The inclusion of achievement tracking streamlines training documentation for ground operators, ensuring adherence to CFR Part 139 requirements. Improved situational awareness and radio communication proficiency are essential for pilot safety and operational efficiency.

Introducing the Interactive Modules

1. AIRPORT Module

The new AIRPORT module introduces a hands-on approach to training for airport signs, markings, and lighting, aligning with FAA AIM 2-3 standards. Training content can be customized to specific airports to fit the training needs of individual operators to deliver initial, continuation, and just-in-time training that meet regulatory requirements. Users, including pilots and ground crews, can enhance their learning experience through touch-screen interaction and engaging scenario variability. This feature also includes achievement tracking, simplifying training documentation and compliance for ground operators, and helping them meet CFR Part 139 requirements. Pilots that complete the training are eligible to claim FAA WINGS Credits with ALC-1072.

2. Instrument HOLDS Module

The Instrument HOLDS module empowers users with dynamic visuals, touch-screen interaction, and speech analysis to master instrument holds. This feature covers holding patterns, hold entries, and hold communications through step-by-step guidance and interactive assessments. It provides a step-by-step description of each concept, followed by engaging interactive assessments that encourage the user to build a mental picture of the hold instructions and how to translate them into flight commands.

3. Interactive PATTERN Module

Designed for non-towered airports, the PATTERN module employs dynamic visuals, touch-screen interaction, and speech analysis to train users on the basics of the pattern at non-towered airports: pattern positions, pattern entries, radio calls, and situational awareness. Users can learn these key concepts and assess their understanding in random scenarios and with multiple aircraft in the pattern. By seeing aircraft fly around the pattern and practicing identifying which aircraft made a particular radio call, given their position and actions, users can practice situational awareness and learn to anticipate the actions of other aircraft. More lessons and scenarios for controlled airports will be coming soon. Pilots that complete the training are eligible to claim FAA WINGS Credits with ALC-1075.

4. Enhanced User Interface for Progress Tracking

The updated user interface offers user-friendly tracking and monitoring of training progress and currency. Users can easily keep tabs on their progress in each training module, with a smooth transition to currency tracking once a module is completed. This new feature is the ideal accountability partner to ensure timely training progression and provide that extra motivation.
